Collection: Khadi Collection
The story of Khadi fabric is deeply intertwined with the history and spirit of India. As distinctive as its origins, Khadi stands apart in the realm of textiles. The creation of Khadi is a beautiful journey that begins with hand-picking cotton balls from the fields. This raw cotton is meticulously separated by hand using a fine comb, a step that prepares the fibers for spinning. After a final cleansing to remove any remnants of dirt, the cotton is spun on a traditional "charkha," where it is twisted to strengthen the yarn.
Once spun, the yarn is wound onto bobbins to facilitate its transfer to the weavers' homes. At the artisan's workshop, the weaving process begins. The yarns are threaded through heddles and secured to the loom's beam, with the warp threads carefully wound and inserted into the shuttle. Dyeing may occur before or after weaving, depending on the design. Through this meticulous process, Khadi emerges as a unique fabric, celebrated for its textured beauty and rich heritage.
